After training to be a nurse at St. Luke's hospital in Chicago and a physical therapist at Northwestern University in Chicago, she served in World War II as physical therapist. In 1946 she enrolled at the University Of Rochester where she met her husband, Charles Perry, a teaching assistant in one of her classes. She and Charles settle in

Ingrid moved to Carolina Village in 2005. There she had an apartment in Independent Living Services (ILS). She was active in Carolina Village Activities and her church, First Congregational church of Hendersonville. When it came time, she moved to The Care Center at Carolina Village and continued to be an active resident in all things Carolina Village. Likewise, when she moved permanently to the Medical Center in 2017, one could find her at anything happening in the activities room.
She loved her Carolina Village Family. She lived there for over twenty years. It was her home, and she died at home. Who could ask for anything better?
