Bartolome Rams

Bartolome Rams, of Eltingville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Maureen of 57 years. Loving father of Robert Rams and Kathleen Murnieks. Cherished father-in-law of Sandra Rams, Karen Knapp and Lauris Murnieks. Devoted grandfather of Kristine, Andris, Ryan and Kevin Murnieks and Anna and Sophia Rams.
Bart was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School and New York University. After serving in the Korean War he became a specialist in commercial insurance underwriting, retiring after 30 years as an executive at the Home Insurance Company. Bart was raised in Manhattan. He moved to Staten Island in 1967. He was a parishioner of Holy Child parish for 56 years.
Bart was a man of varied interests. He enjoyed listening to music and reading about religion, science, and history. He had an extensive collection of history books and opera recordings and was an avid sports fan.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2023, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
