Known to family and friends as Junior. He was preceded in death by his dear mother Isabel N. Silva. He was son to Basil Silva Sr. and big brother to Renee' and Raymond Silva. He was originally from the East Bay but in his later years he followed his children to Modesto and then Sacramento. He was father to Joe II, Anjulica, Andrea, Basil III, Felipe, Jesse, and Julian. His beloved daughter Alicia Celina tragically preceded him in death in 2008. He was proud of his children and would tell anyone who would listen.
Junior was married a few times, including Hope Angel. Despite being on hospice, Junior would still sneak off to the casinos with Angel, whom he affectionately called his oldest and bestest friend.
He loved his many tias, tios, aunts, and uncles. He would frequently express his appreciation for their love as they held a special place in his heart.
He passed on his mother's dimples to almost all of his numerous grandchildren. Many of whom can share stories about a man who attempted to entertain them with silly games and terrible jokes, even if they were purposefully at his own expense. He was the kind of grandpa that drew up passing routes on the back of a football and shot a little hoop. He beckoned his grandchildren to help with all things electronic such as his cell phone, his smart TV, and ordering an Uber.
Junior loved listening to oldies. He enjoyed fishing in the Bay. He liked kung fu movies and felt that Bruce Lee was the best to ever do it. He enjoyed comic books even when he had to use bifocals to read them. He was a 49er Faithful and spent quite a few Sundays watching games with his family.
