Basilio Gaona, 59, of Ventura, California, passed away on September 24, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones. Basilio was born on October 2, 1965, in Ventura to Santana E. Gaona and Anita Corpus. He attended Rio Mesa High School and graduated in 1983.

Basilio is survived by his wife, Annie Alvidrez of Ventura; his sons, Raymond Sanchez, Johnny Torrez, Michael and Matthew Gaona; his daughters, Brandy Torrez and Brianne Lopez; and his sons-in-law, Erick Gilbert and Michael Lopez; and his daughter-in-law, Monica Torrez. He was a proud grandfather to Realean and Autumn Lopez, Johnathan, Alyssa, Makayla, Neveah, Madyson, Christopher, Abby and Payton, and a great-grandfather to Mary.

He is also survived by his mother, Anita Corpus; his sister Elsie and her children, Dominique, Reina, Samantha and her husband Colten, Erika, Jayy, and Olivia; his sister Cassandra, her husband Joseph, and their children Serenity, Joseph Jr., and Julius; his sister Monique, her husband Christian and their daughter Azalea; his brother Louie and wife Mildred; and his brother Freddy and his children Lorena, Alfredo, and Karina. He was preceded in death by his father, Santana E. Gaona, and his sister, Norma Gaona.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Evangelistic Center Church on October 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Nelson Feliciano officiating. Burial will follow at Conejo Mountain Cemetery, Camarillo. A reception will be held at Evangelistic Center Church at 2:00 p.m. The family of Basilio Gaona wishes to extend their gratitude to Joseph P. Readon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ventura.
