Baudelio Caballero Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woodlawn Funeral Home & Garden of Memories on Dec. 10, 2025.
Baudelio Caballerro, known to most as "Leo", passed away peacefully at his daughter's home Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 in Houston. Born February 15th, 1946 in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jose Caballero and Pomposa Guarjardo.
Leo was from a large family with modest means. He worked shining shoes and selling snacks at a very young age to help out with the family. The family relocated to Monterrey in his early teens. Leo studied accounting and had a brief stint in the military. In 1971 Leo moved to the US on a work permit. He started working at the Hyatt Regency. That is where he met Marie in 1973. They were married in 1974. Later they had (2) daughters, Christina in 1975 and Annie in 1978.
Leo loved his family. He was also a very hard worker and loved his job. He enjoyed interacting with people and it was very entertaining. Along the way he owned (2) nightclubs, El Dorado and El Caballero. Later he would become the bartender at the Hilton in the Medical Center where he worked for 30+ years. He was beloved by coworkers and customers alike, many of whom only returned throughout the years because of Leo.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Pomposa; his siblings, Augustin, Jose, and Alicia; wife, Elvia; his daughter, Annie; and his granddaughter, Jennifer. He leaves behind his wife Guadalupe; his daughter, Christina and husband Joe; grandchildren, Abigail and Sean; siblings, Adela, Elvira, Carlos, Raul, and Ezequil. Plus, many extended family and friends.
A visitation is planned for Wednesday, December 10th, 2025 from 12pm until 2pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to follow from 2pm until 3pm. There will be a graveside service immediately after.
