In Loving Memory of Margarita Momtazpour Margarita Momtazpour, born in Irapuato, Mexico on January 26, 1947 to Juan Elizarraras Sr. and Maria del Carmen Elias, faced cancer with remarkable courage and grace until her peaceful passing on November 29, 2025. She is remembered for her compassion, resilience, and dedication to family.
Margarita grew up in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and moved to Houston, TX as a young adult. She worked tirelessly alongside her mother to support her eldest daughter, Alma, and younger siblings, setting an enduring example of dedication for her family.
Margarita's strong work ethic shaped a notable 50-year career in Houston's Hospitality collaborating with top event venues. She was respected for her professionalism and dedication, and she took pride in serving distinguished guests. After retiring, she continued working with family, nding ful llment in her contributions.
Margarita is survived by her beloved husband, Mohsen Momtazpour; daughters Alma Cantu (John), Adrianna Ruiz (Sergio), and Marisol Portillo (Lazaro); nine grandchildren-Alondra, Francisco, Gabriel, Andreina, Jeremiah, Issabela, Jannai, Sophia, and Izelle; ten great-grandchildren; and siblings Jesse and Eloy Elizondo, Guadalupe Ledezma, and Alma Collins, along with their spouses.
Preceding Margarita in death were her parents; two sons Miguel Angel and Leonardo Cesar; one brother Juan Jr.; three sisters Alicia, Rosa Maria, and Ana Isabel; and niece goddaughter, Claudia Veronica. The family will continue her legacy of treasuring and honoring those who have gone before her.
Family gatherings re ected Margarita's charisma and love of fun. We made her famous gorditas and enchiladas, played music and games, and listened to stories about her casino and Bingo trips with her mother, Mamá – her beloved companion and partner in adventure.
Margarita was celebrated for her kindness, resilience, and wisdom. She faced challenges gracefully, inspired others, and built friendships that spanned decades. Her loyalty, optimism and generosity left a lasting impact on those around her.
A memorial service and mass with cremains present will be held on Friday, December 19, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Dr, Houston, TX 77055.
All who wish to honor Margarita's life are warmly invited to attend.
Floral tributes are appreciated. Alternatively, donations may be made to Casa Juan Diego in recognition of Margarita's lifelong dedication to community service. May Margarita Momtazpour rest in peace, lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Obituario (Spanish) En recuerdo de nuestra querida Margarita Momtazpour / Recordando Con Cariño Margarita Momtazpour, nacida en Irapuato, Gto, México, el 26 de enero de 1947, hija de Juan Elizarrarás y María del Carmen Elías, enfrentó la enfermedad con mucho valor y fe hasta su pací ca partida al cielo el 29 de noviembre de 2025. Se le recuerda por su compasión, resiliencia y dedicación a la familia. Margarita creció en Nuevo Laredo, México, y se mudó joven a Houston, TX. Trabajó incansablemente junto a su madre para apoyar a su hija mayor, Alma, y a sus hermanos pequeños, demostrando un fuerte compromiso familiar. La ética laboral de Margarita moldeó una destacada carrera de 50 años en la Hospitalidad. Fue reconocida por su profesionalismo y dedicación, y se enorgullecía de atender a invitados distinguidos. Tras jubilarse, continúo colaborando con su familia, encontrando realización en sus contribuciones. Margarita deja en vida a su querido esposo, Mohsen Momtazpour; hijas Alma Cantú (John), Adrianna Ruiz (Sergio) y Marisol Portillo (Lázaro); nueve nietos-Alondra, Francisco, Gabriel, Andreina, Jeremiah, Issabela, Jannai, Sophia e Izelle; diez bisnietos; y hermanos Jesse y Eloy Elizondo, Guadalupe Ledezma y Alma Collins, junto con sus cónyuges. Antes que Margarita fallecieron sus padres; dos hijos, Miguel Ángel y Leonardo César; un hermano, Juan; tres hermanas Alicia, Rosa María y Ana Isabel; y su sobrina ahijada, Claudia Verónica. La familia continuará su legado de valorar y honrar a quienes la precedieron. Las reuniones familiares destacaban por su carisma y alegría. Cocinábamos sus gorditas y enchiladas, escuchábamos música, jugábamos y compartíamos anécdotas sobre sus viajes al casino y Bingo con Mamá, su querida madre y compañera de aventuras. Margarita fue celebrada por su amabilidad, resiliencia y sabiduría. Afrontó los desafíos con gracia, inspiró a otros y forjó amistades que duraron décadas. Su lealtad, optimismo y generosidad dejaron una huella duradera en quienes la rodeaban. Un servicio conmemorativo y misa con sus cenizas presentes se celebrará el viernes 19 de diciembre, de 16:00 a 20:00, en Woodlawn Funeral Home Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Dr, Houston, TX 77055. Todos los que deseen honrar la vida de Margarita están cordialmente invitados a asistir y esperamos contar con su presencia. Se agradecen los homenajes orales. Alternativamente, se pueden hacer donativos a Casa Juan Diego en reconocimiento a la dedicación de toda la vida de Margarita al servicio comunitario.
