COHOES Beatrice A. Charbonneau entered into eternal life Friday, May 16, 2025 just 11 days prior to her 100th birthday.
Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alma Lussier Parent. Bea was always gifted as a seamstress and worked at several mills around the city in her younger years. She then decided to go into business for herself. As a "social butterfly" this was perfect as it gave her the opportunity to both serve and socialize with her community, which she always enjoyed. She will be remembered as a very giving person who was always taking care of others and generous with her time.
Bea was a devout and active parishioner of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Cohoes. She belonged to the Cohoes Senior Citizens and was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She also loved spending summers with family at the camp on Fish Creek.
Bea was the beloved wife of the late, Leo J. Charbonneau for 54 years as well as George Charbonneau and Charles E. Howard. She is survived by her loving son, Robert L. Charbonneau and his wife Virginia Rucinski Charbonneau; by her granddaughter, Amy M. Charbonneau Patentreger and her husband David; her grandson, Eric J. Charbonneau and his wife, Deborah Palmer Charbonneau; her great granddaughters, Brittany Palmer and Alyssa Patentreger; her great grandsons, Zachary Crittenden, Tyler Everett and Andrew Patentreger; her great great grandsons, Alex Manager and Caleb Charbonneau; her great great granddaughter, Lainey Patentreger; her brother Theodore Parent as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her siblings, Valetta (Mary) Lague, Theresa Elliot, Leo (Paul) Parent, Wilford (Bob) Parent, Frank Parent, Clement Parent and Lionel Parent.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes and at 1:30 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Trinity. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 p.m.
Those wishing to remember Bea in a special way may make contributions to Holy Trinity's Parish Food Pantry, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes or the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 South Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.
