Beatrice Nodler Obituary

Beatrice June Beals Nodler entered into rest at her home in Neosho, Missouri, on November 13, 2025, at the age of 100 years, 5 months, and 3 days. Beatrice June was born on June 10, 1925, in Champaign, Illinois, one of two children that blessed the union of Warren and Julia Beatrice (Mullinex) Beals. She also had two stepbrothers from her mother's first union with Harold Isaacs.

Beatrice June was a member of the 1943 graduating high school class of Somerset, Indiana. She attended the annual high school reunions and was the last living member of her class. At the end of WWII, low cost and free classes were offered by the government. She attended one right out of high school where she received her Secretarial Certificate. She put her training to use as a secretary at the Christie Clinic, a physician's office where she worked for several years. Beatrice June Beals married Charles Edward Nodler, Sr. on November 29, 1944, at University Christian Church in Champaign, Illinois. Together they shared 52 years of marriage, until his passing on August 16, 1997. Charles and Beatrice June moved to Neosho, Missouri in 1961. She worked as a proof-reader at the Neosho Daily News until her retirement. After she retired from proof-reading, she took a part-time job working with her daughter-in-law at a bakery retail store for Harris Baking Company out of Rogers, Arkansas. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Neosho, a member of the Neosho Newton County Library Board of Directors, and a member of the Scrabble Club. In fact, at one time she had the word with the most points on a single word in the entire Midwest. She still played weekly games with her son, Gary, and still beat him more often than not. She enjoyed playing online word games like Words with Friends on her tablet until her death. She was thoughtful and organized, never missing a child, grandchild, great-grandchild, or great-great-grandchild's birthday. She faithfully sent them a heartfelt greeting card for each one of their birthdays and anniversaries and stayed in contact with each one of them as well. She traveled extensively with her husband. Together they had been to most of the states, also some foreign countries such as Canada, Mexico, and France. She had impeccable handwriting, even in her older age, it was beautiful.

Beatrice June is survived by her children: Sue Carole Hamideh of Ft. Worth, Texas, Janice Earlyne Vaughn and her husband, Jim, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Charles Edward Nodler, Jr of Neosho, Missouri, and Gary Wade Nodler and wife, Joncee, of Joplin, Missouri, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son-in-law, Naji Hamideh, and 3 siblings.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 2:00pm at the United Methodist Church in Neosho, Missouri. A funeral service will follow, at 3:00pm, also at the church. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on November 20, 2025, at Roselawn – Mt. Hope Cemetery in Champaign, Illinois where she will be laid to rest next to Charles.
