Roach, Beatrice (Betty) J. Stafford

Age 86 of Brooklyn Park



Betty was born on September 28, 1934 to Claude and Laura Stafford. Her family included sisters, Lorraine and Patty, and brothers, Howard, Milton, Gerald, Buford (who died as an infant), Don and Dwayne. All but Don preceded Betty in death. Betty attended Spring Lake Park Lutheran Church as a child and young adult. She graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1952. On September 29, 1956 she married Robert (Bob) Roach, who passed away January 11, 2000. Bob and Betty had four children, Diane, David, Pam and Paula. Dave passed away from cancer on November 27, 2020.

She is survived by Diane, Pam and Paula and grandchildren, Adam, Nate, Laura (Josh), Kari, John, Libby (Chris), Andrew, Ryan and Anna and great grandchildren Ian, Noah and Natalie.

Betty was a wonderful daughter, wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, neighbor and church member. She was a great cook, enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's activities, eating out, playing games and cards, celebrating holidays and birthdays. She was kind and encouraging and always ready to help others in many ways. She enjoyed greeting people with "Hello all you lovely people!"

She was diagnosed with dementia and spent her last year of life at Maranatha Care Center in Brooklyn Center.



The family would like to thank the staff at Maranatha and at Optage Hospice for their wonderful care for our Mom and Grandma.



There will be a Memorial Service for Betty and her son Dave on Wednesday, July 14th at WayCross Evangelical Church, 7733 West River Road in Brooklyn Park 55444. The service will be at 2:00, with visitation with the family from 1-2. Lunch will be served following the service.
