Gary Lee Roach, 75, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on January 30, 2026, at 9:50 p.m.
Gary was born on August 2, 1950. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1970. That same year, he was drafted into the United States Army and, after completing basic training, was sent to Vietnam where he served honorably as a Combat Engineer until June 1972. His time in the Army reflected his quiet strength, resilience, and deep sense of duty to his country.
On December 19, 1970, Gary married the love of his life, Rynée Henderson. Together they built a life centered on love, loyalty, and family, sharing 55 wonderful years of marriage.
Gary spent most of his working years as a skilled carpenter and builder, a trade that showcased precision and a strong work ethic. Later, he retired from Roberts’ Refrigeration. No matter the job, Gary was known as someone who could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a hand.
More than anything, Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rynée Roach; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Michael Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Kelly Roach; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Wallace Griffin; sister-in-law, Melba Henderson; and his cherished grandchildren, EmiLee Brown, Kristen Brown, Josh Roach, and Chad Roach, all of Mount Pleasant, Texas. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Kyle; his infant brother, Larry; his nephew, Chad Griffin; and his brother-in-law, Art Henderson.
Gary will be remembered for his steady presence, hardworking nature, and deep love for his family. His life was one of service — to his country, his community, and most of all, to those he loved.
There will be a casual come and go gathering at the home of Gary and Rynee Roach Wednesday, February 4th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and a private burial at a later date.
