Beatrice Santella, 82, resident of Miami since 1963, passed away on February 27, 2025.
Born in Altoona, PA, Bea was the daughter of the late Daniel and Laura Santella, and the sister of the late Joseph Santella.
Bea was a lover of animals. While growing up in Altoona, she had a dog named 'Amigo,' while her mother had several cats. Later in life, Bea enjoyed playing with the other family dogs, Jeannie, Buster, and Teddy.
Bea liked to paint, work on puzzles, play dominos, and do arts and crafts. Her daily routine always included talking on the phone with friends and family.
When Bea lived in Shorecrest, she was a parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral Catholic Church and a member of the Women's Guild. She religiously attended Sunday mass.
Bea took excellent care of her parents for many years. After her mother's passing in 1996, Bea participated in the Leisure Access Center program at AD Barnes Park through 2023 where she made many good friends.
Also in 1996, Bea joined the Wayside Baptist Special Needs Ministry. She loved 'Fun Day' and participating in the Christmas pageants. Bea was a woman of great faith. She prayed the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be prayers until her passing.
Bea made the most of her God given talents. By nature, Bea was a happy person who was kind and caring. Bea enjoyed being around others, and she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Bea is survived by her sister-in-law Peggy, nephew Daniel, niece Lori Werner (Joe), great nephew, Zachary Werner, and great niece, Amanda Werner.
The family would like to thank Bea's longtime companion, Maria Diaz, caregivers, Alina Serrano and Haymee Licor, her counselors at AD Barnes and Wayside Baptist, and Catholic Hospice for all of the love and support they provided to Bea over the years.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, 7270 SW 120th Street, Pinecrest, FL 33156, on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 11:30 am.
