Bebe Annice Stanley Watson, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026 at her home. A visitation will be held at Mathews Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service starting at 11:00 AM.
Born on March 29, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Alfred and Elizabeth Stanley, Bebe earned her nursing degree from Crawford Long School of Nursing,
She worked for over 40 years at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, from which she retired in 2000. She spent the majority of the her nursing career in the Emergency Center. Toward the end of her years there, she worked as a Care Manager in the Emergency Center and Oncology. After retirement, she volunteered with the Willson Hospice House, American Red Cross, and Habitat for Humanity.
Bebe enjoyed gardening, decorating, shopping, browsing for antiques, traveling, playing poker and casino slots. She loved the sunshine on her face especially while at the beach, her favorite place. She had a love of all animals and spoiled many of her own as well as all of her grand-puppies. Her deepest love was for her children, who she cherished above all else.
She is survived by her daughters, Traci Watson Akins and Bandi Watson Nason, both of Albany, GA; her brother, Bill Stanley (Denise) of St. Augustine, FL; her sister-in-law, Kenyon Cline of Albany, GA; many nieces and nephews and her best friend for over 55 years, Brenda Littleton of Albany, GA. She was preceded in death by her late husband, William “Bill” Watson and son-in-law, Jason Akins.
