Belva Rue Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rogers Family Mortuary - Monte Vista on Dec. 9, 2025.
Belva Rue, a beloved matriarch and cherished voice in her community, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Pueblo, Colorado. Born on March 24, 1938, in Arkansas, Belva's life was marked by courage, selflessness, and unending love that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Belva was born to the late Raymond and Effie Carlile and shared her childhood with her siblings Lee and Jody, all of whom predeceased her. She found her partner for life in Norman Dwaine Rue, and they committed to each other on November 27, 1954, in Sutherlin, Oregon. Norman's passing on January 26, 2002, marked the end of a beautiful journey together, during which they supported one another and built a life filled with joy and singing.
Belva's legacy is carried on through her children, Dwaine (Wanda), Cherilyn, Brian (Andrea), and Todd (Chyrel), all of whom have established their lives in Colorado, a place that she deeply cherished. The bond she shared with her nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren was the epitome of her caring spirit. She nurtured and delighted in their accomplishments as if they were her own. Her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends will forever remember her warmth and generosity.
Throughout her life, Belva devoted herself to serving others in her work and daily life. She embraced the move from Salem, Oregon to White Sulphur Springs, Montana, and finally to South Fork, Colorado, in the 1960s, supporting her husband and family by working off the timber supply for the Douglas Studs Saw Mill. She faced each day with bravery and dedication, championing both her family and her community.
Belva's interests were a reflection of her caring and loving nature. Her beautiful singing voice was a testament to the joy and solace she found in music-whether it was lifting spirits in solo or harmonizing with a group. She held a special place in her heart for the Denver Broncos, rarely missing a game, watching the Price is Right on television, and especially the elderly, whom she cared for with utmost compassion. When not brightening the lives of others with song, she could often be found crocheting, an activity through which she crafted beauty with her hands as deftly as she crafted love with her actions.
She and her husband shared a zest for the outdoors, and their adventures fishing and camping are remembered fondly by all who knew them. These shared passions further solidified their bond and created cherished memories for their family.
Cremation was performed at the Rogers Family Mortuary Crematory in Alamosa. Private services will be held.
