Ben Norman “Benny” Catlett Jr., 77, passed away at home on December 7, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 3, 1946 in Knoxville, TN to the late Ben Catlett and Katherin Harper.
Benny grew up in Tennessee along with his brother, sister, and parents. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Army, serving along side his brother and father, until being honorably discharged years later.
On April 8, 1977 Benny became a father to his pride and joy, Corinne, his little girl.
All who knew Benny loved his bigger than life personality. He always knew how to make your bad days turn into good days. He loved his politics and lottery, but the love of his life was his grandchildren, and he was the best paw paw they could ask for. The world lost an incredible man, father, paw paw, friend, and brother, but heaven gained an angel. We all know he’s there catching fish, playing pool, going on his twice daily lottery runs, and talking politics.
Benny is survived by his sister, Lillian Hester, FL; brother, John Catlett, FL; children Jennifer (Rob Dildine) Moore, Lancaster, and Johnny (Joey) Moore, Carroll; grandchildren, Liam, Lance, Faith, Joey, Kyler, Taylor, Laine, Medi, Aubrie, and Quintine; nieces, Kerrianne Edwards, and Tammianne Dubner; and nephew, Trey Hester.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Corinne Catlett of FL; and parents.
His family would like to thank the hospice team and palliative care for all their grace and compassion as they showed during this time.
Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY.
A celebration of life will be held on January 27, 2024 from 1-5 PM at the Lancaster VFW, 116 Perry St., Lancaster, OH 43130.
