It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Benita Husers, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on November 17, 2025, at the age of 88.
Benita was born on April 19, 1937, in Church Point, Louisiana. Benita was a dedicated manager at McNeese Federal Credit Union, for many years. Her commitment to her work and her unwavering support for her colleagues and credit union members left a lasting impact on many.
She loved plants and working in her yard, loved garage sales, shopping, Dr. Pepper, Nutty Bars and all sweets. Benita loved Cajun music, Cajun dancing, and spending time with family. Her biggest love and compassion were her grandkids and great grandkids, she was their biggest supporter in all sporting events they participated in and traveled the country to make sure she never missed an event.
She is survived by her three daughters, Cindy Stantz (Donald), Nancy Brignac (Curtis), and Nikki Dartez. Benita also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Brent Stantz (Misty), Brandy Sawyer (Lee), Kasey Brignac, Jesey Crafton (Jared), and Garett Dartez (Jacey), along with her great-grandchildren Madison, Pailey, Reed, Piper, Renley, Deacon, Tyson, Weston, Easton, Miller, and a great-great-granddaughter on the way, Amelia. Benita is also survived by her loving brothers, Hubert Brasseaux and Jimmy Brasseaux (Jenny), as well as her brothers-in-law, Tony Pousson and Nathan Cormier, also numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of her life, a visitation will take place at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa on November 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service, with a rosary recited at 12:30. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 PM. Benita will be laid to rest later that day, surrounded by her loved ones in Lacassine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
Benita's generosity, wisdom, and loving spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew her. She touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all of us. May she rest in peace.
Benita was preceded in death by her parents, Hubertie and Olampe Doucet Brasseaux, her sisters, Berna Pujol, Sandra Pousson, Jenora Cormier, Dorothy Ardoin, and her son-in-law, Mike Dartez.
