She was a member of Waddy Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Lisby , a sister, Blanche Cox, and a nephew, Kenton Cox.
Benita is survived by her sisters, Bonnie Cox and Becky Holbert, both of Frankfort, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.
Benita Lisby's funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Shannon Funeral Home, with Rev. Roy Temple, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville, Kentucky.
Visitation for Benita will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2025, until the funeral hour.
Expressions of Sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
