Benjamin Akers Obituary

Benjamin Lee Akers, 47, of Nineveh, Indiana, passed away on February 13, 2026. Born on August 26, 1978, Ben was known for his vibrant personality and creative spirit.

Ben's passion for motorcycles was inherited from his father, Terry Lee Akers, who predeceased him. He also shared his mother Leah Ann Gast's artistic talents, particularly in woodworking, knife making, and leather crafting. Ben's sense of humor was well-known among his friends and family, always seizing any moment to lighten the mood with laughter.

Ben translated his early skills into a successful career as a skilled carpenter, working alongside his father from a young age. His work was not just a job but a part of who he was, always taking pride in his craftsmanship.

Ben enjoyed collecting vintage Tonka toys, savoring good meals with loved ones, and cherished moments spent with his grandbabies, who brought immense joy into his life.

He is survived by his children, Jozey (Owen) Wilson, Sidney (Cameron) Kelp, Benjamin (Darian) Akers Jr, Terry Akers, and Faith Harmon; his grandbabies, Jencyn, Islee, Asher, and Marlow; and his sister, Carrie (Jeremy) Nelson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeremy Akers.

No memorial service will be held, honoring Ben's wishes. His life will be remembered privately by family and friends, reflecting on the many joyful and loving memories he left behind.
