Christopher Lee Akers passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 12th, 2026. He was a loving son, brother, father, and uncle.

Chris can be remembered best through his love of family and sports. He grew up a high achieving athlete and shared the love of sports, such a basketball, with his father. He also achieved great results in high jump and still holds records at Bloomingdale High School, specifically for basketball. One of his highlights in his athletic endeavors was getting to coach both of his daughter's soccer teams.

Christopher is proceeded in death by his parents, Michael and Annette Akers.

He is survived by his siblings, Craig (Kris) Akers, Danielle (Rick) Johnston, and Doug (Kendra) Akers. Christopher is also survived by his two children Abigail Akers and Mikayla Akers (Bobby Black), who were the light of his life. He also is survived by his nieces and nephews Andrew (Miriah) Akers , Aubrey (Austin) Simmons, Brooke (Dean) Simmons, Conner Akers, and Shianne Akers.

A celebration of life will be held for Chris on Thursday March 19th, 2026. Visitation will be held from 3-4PM with a memorial service directly after from 4-5PM. The family would also like to invite Chris' loved ones to attend a reception from 5-6PM. The services will all be held at Serenity Meadows located at 6919 Providence Rd Riverview, FL 33578.
