Mr. Benjamin Joseph Cassisi, 86 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on December 22, 2025. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 23, 1939 to the late Rosario and Angeline Cassisi. At the age of 20, he married his beautiful wife, Sandra (Thaxton) Cassisi on October 24, 1959 and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage before his passing. Ben worked as a firefighter for Clinton Township Fire Department for 25+ years before retiring. Upon retirement, him and Sandra moved to Atlanta permanently in the early 1990s. Ben was an outdoorsman. He loved the woods, hunting when he was able, and surrounding himself in nature. He found his passion for building and was very proud of the work that both him and Sandra had put into building their home and creating memories within its walls. He found contentment in ensuring Sandra was always cared for and well loved. He is and will be deeply missed.

Ben is remembered by his loving wife, Sandra Cassisi; children, Anthony Cassisi, Maria Miller, and Dino Cassisi; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Joe (Vickie) Cassisi; sisters, Nancy (George) Figlioli and Mary (Gene) Glaeser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosario and Angeline Cassisi; son, Russell; brothers, Russell and Anthony; sister and brother-in-law, David and Diana; and granddaughter, Kara.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Lewiston in the Spring.
