Benjamin Ray Colburn, affectionately known as Benny Colburn, was born on July 17, 1933, in Navarro, Texas. He passed away on May 12, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, after a life well-lived.
Benny dedicated much of his life to his work, including several years at Arkansas Best Freight, where his hard work and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers as a truck driver. Later, he transitioned to Stewart Motor Company, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.
Benny's commitment extended beyond his professional life. He served with honor in the Army Reserves, embodying the principles of duty and service to his country.
In his leisure time, Benny found joy in playing 42 (dominos), a game he cherished and shared with friends and family alike. His competitive spirit made every game memorable.
Benny's later years were enriched by the compassionate care he received from Brookdale Assisted Living and Bristol Hospice. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to these dedicated caregivers for their unwavering support and kindness.
Benny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, LaJuanna, his infant son, Alan Ray Colburn, and his mother, Eula Mae Colburn. He is survived by his daughters, Terry Boulware and husband Ricky, Sheila Colburn.
He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Shade and Margie Boulware of Corsicana, Ericka and Matt Smith of Corsicana, Kenneth "Kenny" III and Holly Giager of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Shannon Giager of Dallas, Texas, and Heather and William Fowler of Edmond, Oklahoma. Benny leaves behind a legacy of love and family, including 14 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Benny's life was defined by his dedication to his family, his work ethic, and his love for others. He will be remembered for his kind heart and his unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

I knew Benny a little over a year, and I knew that I just met the best gentleman. Without his old blue truck, Benny was not the wild rider in the neighborhood. He has this new white truck but nothing like his old truck. Thank God for blessing us to come across such a good man.
