Joseph Eads "Joe" Colburn Jr.

Joseph Eads Colburn Jr., "Joe" age 73, went to his Heavenly Father on June 17, 2025, surrounded by his wife, Pam and family members at home in Anna, Texas. Joe was born to Joe Colburn and Sarah Hunt Colburn in Corpus Cristi, Texas on August 8, 1951.
Joe battled Stage 4 Melanoma Cancer for over 3 years. His attitude was positive from the day he was diagnosed. Joe even took his last trip to South Africa on Safari and to Alaska for fishing and visiting with friends during this time. He and Pam traveled, entertained, spent time outdoors, and went on road trips to Crystal Beach and the Beaumont area while he was in treatment for cancer.
Joe spent his school years in Vidor, Texas, graduating from Vidor High School, class of 1969. Joe was a young 13-year-old Eagle Scout and these skills served him well his entire life. Joe was proud of his friendships with his classmates all through his life, even within the last months receiving calls, texts and emails from many.
Joe met the love of his life, Pam, while still in high school. They spent 52 years of marriage, and this time was happy, serving God and making friends all over the world.
Joe was an avid Sportsman and Adventurer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, in Texas, the Midwest, including Colorado and Wyoming. Joe loved fishing at Crystal Beach and Galveston with family and friends. Joe would say hunting Lion in Zimbabwe and landing a record class Yellow Fin tuna in the Gulf of Mexico was the most challenging. He had Pam by his side for both.
Joe's professional life took them to Richardson, Texas, with Hubbards cafeteria. In 1979, he entered the Furniture business living in Lenexa, Kansas where he became associate of Don White, brother-in-law/friend as manufacturer's representative for Bassett Furniture, and back to the Dallas, Texas area where he was sales representative for AICO Furniture Designs.
Joe was a friend to everyone, and he had friends all over the world.
Joe is survived by his wife, Pam; his dad, Joe Colburn Sr.; brothers, Sam Colburn (wife Robin), Johnny Colburn, Andrew Russell, Dr. David Russell; sister, Janice Tantillo, (husband Randy); Pam's sisters, Pat Claiborne (husband Jerry), Judi White (husband, Don), and Shirley Haney; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; two little great-great nephews; and great-great-great niece were recipients of his time and love. Joe is also survived by many cousins; an Aunt and Uncle; and a host of numerous other loving family and friends.
Predeceased; his mother Sarah Russell, his sister Virginia Mode, nephew, Jeremiah Tantillo and wonderful friend Dan Ramel.
Joe will be remembered for his love, kindness and beautiful smile.
