Bagnell & Son Funeral HomeBenjamin Louis Levy, III passed away peacefully at his home in Goodbee, Louisiana, on November 11, 2025 with his family by his side. He was 74 years old.
Benny was the proud father of three, a devoted Pops to eight grandchildren, and a delighted great-grandfather to two and a half. A man of many gifts, he expressed his creativity through writing, painting, and performing live music—sharing his art, humor, and warmth with everyone fortunate enough to know him. As an accomplished musician, he made numerous appearances on podcasts and radio shows throughout the Rio Grande Valley. In his later years, he found great joy in collaborating with fellow musicians and had recently been performing regularly at local bars with Snake & Jake’s being one of his favorites.
A lifelong animal rescuer, Benny had a tender heart and deep compassion for all of God’s creatures.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Louis Levy, Jr. and Jeanne Gillis Levy; his beloved father figure, Edmond “Pudgie” Miranne, Sr.; and his twin nieces, Heidi and Ericka.
Benny is survived by his sisters Sandra Watzon, Lynne O’Leary, and Leslie Levy (Ken) Martin; his loving life-long partner, Kathy; and his three sons: Timothy Edmond (Chantal), Christopher Paul (Stacey), and Benjamin Louis Levy IV (Vi). He was “Uncle Beano” to Adam, Peter, and Jeanne O’Leary.
Benny was a friend to more people than could ever be counted. He leaves behind a song of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. His spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to St. Tammany Hospice for their kindness, care, and compassion during Benny’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in his name.
We invite you to gather with us in honor of Benny’s bright and joyful spirit on Saturday, January 17th, from 1:00–4:00 PM at Snake & Jake’s Christmas Club Lounge.
Please consider a donation as requested by the family.
