Nell Rita Pritchard Selzer, a longtime resident of Covington LA, was called home to be with God on November 19, 2025 at the age of 90.

Nell was born on September 11, 1935 in Patterson LA and is the daughter of the late Jesse J. Pritchard and Adeline Berthelot Pritchard and sister of the late Beverly Roddy, and the late Hazel Couture.

She graduated from Terrebonne High School. Nell was married to Phillip Roddy for 15 years and had four children. After moving to Covington, Nell worked for the St. Tammany Parish School Board as a secretary while she completed her college education. She then taught at Abita Springs Junior High and Folsom Junior High , retiring in 1995. In 1985, Nell met and married Jack Selzer and they were married until his death in 2007.

Nell joined the Covington Presbyterian Church in 2009 and was immediately welcomed by many new friends. She served as a deacon, a member of the choir, and as a member of the Crafty Critters sewing group. Nell was also a member of the Northshore Newcomers, the Who Dat bowling league, and several card clubs. Nell was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing blankets to donate to various local service organizations. She also made needlepoint Christmas stockings for every member of the family.

Nell was preceded in death by her son, Brian James Roddy. She is survived by her brother Harold Pritchard (Cecelia), her sons Arlen (Diane), Dale (Sandy), her daughter Judy (AJ), as well as eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Covington Presbyterian Church on December 2, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 and a memorial service will begin at 11:00.
