Marcelle “Mimi” Petitfils Masson, 88, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Mandeville, Louisiana. A longtime resident of Terrytown, LA, Mimi was born on October 12, 1937, in Jeanerette, Louisiana, to the late Robert John Petitfils and Milston Merceron Petitfils.
Mimi was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and joyful spirit touched everyone she met. She is preceded in death by her beloved children Ricky Masson, Cindy Sutfin, and Robert Masson; her daughter-in-law Lisa Masson; and by her cherished twin brother Mark Petitfils and her brother Robert John Petitfils Jr.
She is survived by her loving family: Randy Sutfin, her son-in-law; grandchildren Josh Sutfin, Jordan Masson and wife Yasmine, and Brandon Sutfin and wife Megan; and her adored great-granddaughter, Liv Elise Sutfin.
A proud graduate of St. Stephen’s Girls High School in New Orleans, Mimi was a devout Roman Catholic whose faith guided her throughout her life. She was known for her talents in the kitchen, her love of singing and dancing, and her vibrant presence as the life of every gathering. Beautiful inside and out, she embraced others with kindness, laughter, and unconditional love.
Mimi’s legacy of joy, generosity, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 11345 St John Church Rd, Folsom, LA 70437 on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM with visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 AM.
The family asks that Masses be offered in lieu of floral tributes.
