Benjamin Edward Lewark was born June 29, 1928, in Fort Worth and passed February 27, 2022 at his home in Aledo. Ben was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School, served 7 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from US Postal Service after 36 years. He also worked behind the scenes at the Fort Worth Stock show for 38 years. Ben was a 50-year Mason and was a member of numerous Lodges, Chapter and Council, and Parker County Shrine. Ben’s voice earned him much respect announcing Brewer High football, NTHSRA rodeos and as the Youth Rodeo Reporter on WBAP. Ben was an active member of the Parker County Cowboy Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by wife, Marion; granddaughters, Lori and Kristi; and great-grandson, Justen.
Ben is survived by his children, Connie Wright and husband, John, Paula Vess and husband, Gordon, Eddie Lewark and wife, Melody and Terri Collins and husband, Ronny; 7 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson.
Visitation: 5-7pm, Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel 4941 I-20 Frontage Road, Willow Park, Texas 76087. Funeral service: 11 am, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Parker County Cowboy Church with a military graveside to follow at 2:30 pm, at DFW National Cemetery.
In lieu of floral tributes the family requested donation be made to The Ben Lewark Scholarship Fund associated with the Ridglea Masonic Lodge.
