A wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and friend, Benjamin S. Love passed away at home, in Layton, Utah, on September 14, 2025 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 51. He was born May 1, 1974, to Claudia Stromberg and Keith Love. Ben grew up in South Weber, Utah.
At a young age he started working at the farm of his grandparents, Ada and Glen Love. He loved farming and it became a lifelong passion. Ben loved farming with family and worked with his Grandpa Glen, his father, Keith, and uncle, Matt, during much of his life. His final eight years he farmed with his wife and children.
As a teenager, Ben worked for several years pouring footings and foundations with his uncle, George. Ben loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping. He graduated from Clearfield High School in Utah in 1992. Three years later he began working at the place he would spend the rest of his career, Weber Basin Water.
On April 7, 2006, Ben married his sweetheart, Barbara Shepherd, in the Ogden Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were blessed to have Shanndice sealed to them and had three additional children, Beau, Ike, and Lydia.
Ben enjoyed serving at church as a Primary teacher. It was his favorite calling and the children loved him. He enjoyed making them laugh and getting the kids to think about the messages in the scriptures. Ben believed in Jesus Christ and tried to be like Him by loving and serving others. He loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. Ben will be greatly missed.
Ben is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Shanndice, Beau, Ike, and Lydia; his parents, Keith and Claudia Love; his brothers, Bart (Nancy) Love, Brett Love, Blake (Leigh) Love, sisters Camille (Lonnie) Schow, Amber (Lance) Boyce, Misty (Jolley) Rogers; brothers-in-law Rick (Paula) Shepherd, Mike (Erin) Shepherd, Clint (Brooke) Shepherd, Dave (Jen) Shepherd, Dan (Shannon) Shepherd and many nieces and nephews.
