Benjamin Harvey Ralston 71, of Wichita Falls, Texas went to be with his Savior on January 15, 2025.
Ben was born in Dallas, Texas, to Benjamin Wesley Ralston and Rena Mae Ralston. He grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and graduated from Monterey High school before attending Texas Tech University. There, he earned a Business Management Degree and later a degree in Petroleum Engineering. While at Tech, he was a member and served in many leadership positions as part of the Texas Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
On September 9, 1978, he married his wife of almost 50 years, Jeane Ann Johnson of Wichita Falls. They briefly lived in Amarillo, Texas where he started his career in the oil business at Mesa Petroleum and continued his enjoyment of athletics by refereeing high school football. After the birth of their twins, Lyndsey and Greg, they settled in Wichita Falls where he took a job working at Gunn Oil Co. He later retired to work as a consultant for Canan Mowrey Operating.
Ben was a very present father, actively involved in both of his children's school and sports activities. He was a passionate youth baseball coach for over 30+ years and played a key role to build and establish the Little League of Wichita Falls. He and Jeannie supported their alma mater, Texas Tech University, as well as Grace Church, Hospice of Wichita Falls and several other causes dear to their hearts.
Alongside his family, Ben loved the outdoors and embarked on many adventures around the world. It was in nature where he felt the most comfortable and formed many friendships with fellow outdoorsmen. He cherished time spent with his two grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Big Ben". He also had a deep appreciation for classic cars, music, Western artifacts and antiques. A man with many passions and vast knowledge, he always had a witty remark to those that knew him best. He understood the value of every sunrise and sunset and made every effort to enjoy them all. His love of nature and adventurous spirit has been passed down to his family, ensuring his legacy will endure.
Ben is survived by his wife Jeannie of Wichita Falls; daughter Lyndsey Ralston of Fort Worth; son Benjamin Gregory Ralston, and his wife Lindsey Tieken Ralston, of Fort Worth, along with their children, Benjamin Gage and Lucie Nan; sister, Susie Ralston Day, and her husband David Day of Spring, Texas; along with many other relatives of the Wichita Falls, Houston, Lubbock and DFW areas.
A visitation of the family will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00- 2:30 p m. A private graveside service will be held for family only. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or Hands to Hands of Wichita Falls.
