Suzanne Boggs, of
Richland, Missouri, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026 at the age of 88.
A daughter of late Suzanne (Maury) and Henri Berleux, Suzanne was born on July 18, 1937, in Veckring, France.
Sue lived through extraordinary times. As a young child, she endured and survived the German occupation of her town during World War II. She also lost her mom at the age of 3 and the love of her life, our dad, 10 years ago – all experiences that shaped her strength, resilience, and appreciation for life and family.
She was a very smart young lady and finished all 12 grades of school by the time she was 13. She remained in school to assist teachers until they allowed her to graduate. Although she was offered the opportunity to attend college, her family signed a contract for her to work in a military uniform pressing factory.
At the age of 16, she left home and survived on her own until she met William R. Boggs, Jr., a young, handsome army guy. They later married in Toul, France and began a family. They eventually took their young family to the United States while he served a tour in Vietnam. As a military family, they lived in Ohio, Kansas, Georgia, Alaska, Missouri, Germany, and finally settled in
Richland, Missouri.
Together they built a life centered on love, service, and dedication to family. Above all else, Sue was a devoted mother to her five children and the proud matriarch of a large and loving family that grew to include 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her home was a place of care, warmth, and welcome, and she took great pride in nurturing those entrusted to her.
A gifted homemaker that loved to cook, sew, knit, crochet and garden, Sue also shared her generous spirit through years of providing daycare services and offering housekeeping support for hotels and private residences. Her work reflected her strong work ethic, compassion, and willingness to serve others.
In the final 12 years of her life, Sue lived with Alzheimer's disease. Despite this difficult journey, she remained deeply loved and cared for by her family, who will always cherish her legacy of devotion, perseverance, and unconditional love.
She will be truly missed and forever remembered for her strength, kindness, and the many lives she touched.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband, William R. Boggs, Jr.
She is survived by her son Alain Boggs (Rogilyn) of Georgetown, Texas, daughter Corinne O'Neil (David) of
Wichita Falls, Texas, daughter Nancy Wong (Andrew) of Kearny, New Jersey, son Tracy Boggs (Phyllis) of Waynesville, Missouri and son Vincent Boggs (Diana) of
Richland, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicolas, Brittany, Nathan, Riley, Jenna, Kaleb, Ariel, Matthew, Stephanie, Kastine, Brandon, Devon, Christine, Frank, Crystal, John, Dakota, Amanda and James and 16 great grandchildren.
Our family appreciates all the care and love shown to our mom at the House of Hope and Hospice of Wichita Falls.
A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
For those desiring, memorial contributions may be sent to the
Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
