Benjamin Romero Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Adams Funeral Home - Woodstown on Feb. 15, 2026.
Benjamin Romero, 59, of Woodstown, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the Bronx, New York, Ben was the beloved son of Victor and Olga Romero. He attended Alfred E. Smith Vocational HS to pursue training as a boiler technician, beginning a career marked by dedication, skill, and an unwavering work ethic.

For the past several years, Ben worked as a maintenance technician at Inspira Medical Center, Mannington. He was known for being extremely hardworking, dependable, and committed to excellence. He often shared his personal mottos with family and friends: "Don't try, do!" and "If you do it right the first time, you don't have to do it a second time!" These words reflected the discipline and integrity by which he lived his life.

Ben enjoyed watching golf and the Olympics, but above all, he cherished his family. During his courageous battle with cancer, his greatest inspiration-besides his loved ones-was "The Hulk," whose strength symbolized perseverance and resilience. A faithful man long before his diagnosis, Ben's relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, deepened profoundly throughout his illness. He found strength, comfort, and encouragement in prayer, studying Scripture, and praising God. His faith carried him through every trial, and his family finds peace knowing that when he closed his eyes here, he awakened in heaven, embraced by Jesus and reunited with loved ones who had gone before him.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Denise Torres Romero; his children, Melissa I. Jerez, Jerrica J. Romero, Daniella M. Campos, William D. Alvarado and Denalys J. Alvarado; his sisters, Noemi Romero Pacheco and Elena Romero; his brother, Juan Pablo Romero; and his four cherished grandchildren, Noel R. Jerez, Kris L. Jerez, Luca R. Jerez, and Emilia A. Diaz Ortiz.

Services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098. Viewing will begin at 4:00 PM, with the service to follow at 5:00 PM. Burial will be on Wednesday morning at Chestnut Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Condolences may be shared with the family at adamsfuneralhome.org.
