It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Benjamin Michael Ruley, age 20, due to injuries sustained from a car accident. On Sunday, October 20, 2024 our lives were permanently changed after this tragic accident.
Ben was a graduate of Plymouth South High School, and during middle school, played football for the Plymouth South Jaguars. He worked in highway construction for the Bartlett Consolidated Company.
For those that knew our boy you'd know he was always the life of the party, quick with a comeback and even quicker to give you the shirt off his back. His gracious heart has touched the lives of many and we will hold onto that forever. This is not the end of his life, but the beginning of his legacy.
His charming personality and striking blue eyes lit up every room he entered. His presence could be felt a mile away. Under his hard exterior laid a mushy, soft and pure soul. Just wanting to see the best for everyone around him.
Ben's optimistic attitude was something to be admired by all. No matter what life handed his way, it would always be okay in his eyes.
We know during this difficult time Ben would want us to be proud of the boy he was, and the man he was becoming. He'd want us to celebrate his life rather than mourning the unimaginable pain of losing him so soon. Someone as special as Ben will never be forgotten and most certainly will be missed beyond words.
He is the son of Michael and Jennifer Ruley and the brother of Cole Ruley, Lilly Ruley, Abby (Foley) Darbyshire and her husband Aaron, and soon to be uncle to Baby Darbyshire.
Besides his parents and siblings, he leaves his grandparents James and Martha Roderick of Marshfield and Karen Loud Ruley of Buzzards Bay, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
This tragedy leaves us heartbroken. However, his legacy will live on forever. Ruley Strong.
Visiting hours for Ben's family will be held in the CARTMELL-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 619 State Road, Plymouth (MANOMET) on Friday October 25, 2024, from 4:00PM - 8:00PM.

We had the honor of meeting the amazing Ruley clan when Ben was just a toddler. We will never forget those days watching the excitement and the passion Ben had following his older siblings everywhere during the day. Ben was always looking for the next adventure and always looking to outdo them -- bruise or no bruises to be had ! But when the siblings went to bed or he was supposed to be in "nap time", you could place a winning bet that without exception he would find his way back into the living room to be with the rest of us adults and hang out -- bringing SSSOOO much laughter and innocent curiosity to the conversation. That said, when we would cross paths with Ben through the years after that we still physically always visualized that little toddler with zest for adventure and a sparkle in those blue eyes. That's what we will always remember about Ben !
