Benjamin Savoy Sr., 92 years old, beloved Father and Grandfather, and Great- Grandfather, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on February 9, 1932, born to Martha and Joseph Savoy, in Lawtell, LA. He was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons, Benjamin Savoy, Jr. (Missy), Joseph Savoy; grandchildren, Allie Savoy Hoang (Melvin), Amy Vasquez Johnson, Kim Martin, Wendy Savoy, and Derrick Savoy; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Benjamin is preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Mary Neva Fontenot Savoy; father, Joseph Savoy; mother, Martha Lavergne Savoy ; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Benji Savoy, Joseph Savoy, Melvin Hoang, Blaine Fontenot, Derrick Savoy, and Cory Winburn.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Jason Palermo. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
