Coby Savoy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory - Broussard on Jan. 26, 2026.
Coby David Savoy, born on September 28, 1979, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 46.

He is survived by his daughters, Bailey (Quinn), Morgan, Claire, and Tabby Savoy; his grandchildren, Braxton Nichols, Madelyn Taylor, Ivy Latiolais, and Kehlani Collette; his wife, India Bourque Savoy; his siblings, Kate Savoy and Thad Savoy (Emily); his parents, Kathleen and David Savoy; his four nephews and two nieces; as well as his beloved dog and companion, Moe.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Essie and Lucy Savoy and Floyd and Helen "Blue" Robicheaux; and his brother, Jake Savoy.

Coby was born and raised in St. Martinville, and in the waters that ran through it. He loved the outdoors and could often be found fishing, crawfishing, hunting, or simply spending time in the woods. A commercial fisherman by trade, Coby was fortunate to do what he loved while working in the family business and providing for those he loved.

While the outdoors brought him peace, his greatest joy came from his family. He adored his daughters and grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. He was a true example of a hardworking provider, a good father, a valued family man, who has always been his family's protector, providing comfort and shelter over those he loved. Coby lived life boldly, loved good company, sharing a story, and was always in pursuit of the next big catch.

Coby will be missed beyond words, but his legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories shared, and the memories held close by all who loved him.

Gone Fishing

If someone should ask for me,
Tell'em heaven is where I'll be.
I've finished all my life's chores,
And now I fish on heaven's shores.

The view is grand and the fishing's great,
But I yearn for you as I wait.
I'll save a spot on the river's bend,
For all those I call family and friend.

But for now, sail out to sea,
And make a cast in memory,
To all the good times from the past,
So the memories will ever last.

And if the fish no longer bite
Or seem no longer worth the fight,
Because it's me that you are missin',
Don't worry, be glad-

I've only gone fishin'.
