Benjamin David Sitte
BISMARCK - Benjamin David Sitte, 43, of Bismarck, died September 1, 2023. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, with a vigil prayer service and rosary starting at 7 p.m. at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 8, at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. The funeral will be live streamed on the church website.
Ben was born in Bismarck to David and Margaret (Ulmen) Sitte. He attended college at BSC and NDSU. After college, he worked as a power plant operator for Xcel Energy in Burnsville, MN. He took great pride in his work, and he developed lasting friendships through his job. He returned to Bismarck in 2019 to be closer to family.
Ben was a good-hearted and kind man, an excellent listener, and a devoted friend. He enjoyed gardening, long walks, and traveling with family to 48 states and many European countries. He loved to laugh and share family stories. Ben trusted in the merciful love of Jesus and was an active member of Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.
He is survived by his parents, David and Margaret Sitte; brother, Paul Sitte, Denver, CO; sisters, Rebecca Speck, Peoria, IL and Ann (Nick) Andersen, Dallas, TX. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Olivia, Isabelle, Andrew, Anna, Jude, John Paul, Caleb, and Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Anne Ulmen, and Werner and Hazel Sitte, and by his brother-in-law, Tim Speck.
His amazing memory, insightful comments, and big hugs will be dearly missed. In honor of Ben and the kindness he showed to so many, please consider an act of kindness to someone who needs a helping hand.

Dave and Margaret, David was my favorite political science teacher at BSC. [ I took political science 3 times in the 30 years that it took me to get through BSC.] I just want to say I grieve with you through your loss of your dear son. Ben.
