Benjamin "Benny" E. Young, age 73, passed away at his home in Jackson Center, Ohio, surrounded by his loving wife and children at 9:53 on October 10, 2025.
He was born on January 23, 1952, in Redkey, Indiana to the late Edgar Young Jr. and Mary Emma Young. He married the love of his life, Lisa Current on October 6th, 1979 in Redkey, Indiana. They spent 46 wonderful years together.
He is also survived by his step mother, Shirley Young of Hartford City, IN; his 4 children: Michelle (Jason) Tinsley of Bowling Green, KY, Josh Young of Lima, OH, Jessica (Nathan) Denney of Charleston, SC, and Jennifer (Kyle) Doseck of Botkins, OH; 15 grandchildren, each of whom he loved deeply and prayed for daily.
He took great joy in teaching them about God's love and showing them what it meant to walk in faith. His greatest hope was that they would always keep the Lord close to their hearts.
Ben decided to donate his body to Cleveland Clinic for cancer research.
A memorial service will be held at the Wapak Nazarene Church, 401 Court Street, Wapakoneta, Ohio 45895, on Monday, October 13th, 2025. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow, provided by Wapak Church of the Nazarene.
