Bennie A. Fontanelle, 85, of Burton, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

Ben was born on October 12, 1939, to Ben and Dorothy (Bartholomew) Fontanelle in Burton, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, 2nd Battalion/21st Artillery. Ben married Barbara in 1983, and together he helped raise 3 children, Terry Brooks, Phyllis Andrews & Staci Burch.

He retired from the Geauga City Highway Department after over 30 years of service.

Ben will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Barbara; Terry Brooks (Lisa Gibbs), Phyllis Andrews, Pat & Staci Burch; his sisters Connie DiBlase & Gloria Diederich; and grandchildren Patrick, Eric, Lizzy, Ben, Colin, Sean, Hope & Keith. Nieces & nephews: Andrew, Bruce, Pattie, Paula, Stacey, Terry, Veronica

He was preceded in death by his parents Ben & Dorothy Fontanelle, sisters Janet Kavacic & June Frost (Glen Frost), Nephews Don & Mile Dederich.

Calling hours will be held at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St, Middlefield, Ohio, on Saturday September 20th from 1:00PM -3:00 PM with service immediately following. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
