Mr. Bennie Gray Mauldin, age 91, of Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born on January 13, 1933 in Surry County to the late Roy and Annie Brintle Mauldin. Mr. Mauldin loved to trade antiques. One of his greatest pleasers in life was the years he coached the Eldora Cubs of the Dobson Little League. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Sylvia Venable Mauldin; sons, Ted Mauldin, Mark Mauldin, Eric Mauldin (Tabatha); grandchildren, Casey, Aaron, Olivia, Kalei, Sarah, Konnor, and Kameron; great-grandchildren, Shifty and Cole; sister, Betty Tilley; brother, Arnold Mauldin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mauldin was preceded in death by sisters, Billie Eckenrod, infant sister, Susan Rebecca Mauldin; brothers, Bob, Max, and Rex Mauldin. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery with service conducted by Rev. Larry Jones. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12: 30 PM until time to leave for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for the care and support given. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made in honor of Mr. Mauldin to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Dr Suite 101, Mt Airy, NC 27030.
