Bennie Lee Means III was born on November 22, 1960, to the late Bennie Lee Means Jr. and Martinna Francis Means. A proud graduate of Moss Point High School, Class of 1978, Bennie pursued his passion for electrical work by earning an associate degree in Industrial Electrical from Jackson County Junior College.

In 1980, Bennie answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army through the Mississippi Army National Guard in Pascagoula. He studied electrical engineering with the Army Corps of Engineers and later transferred to the Texas Army National Guard, where he served honorably until November 2004.

On June 27, 1981, Bennie married the love of his life, Barbara D. (Bradley) Means. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and service. They moved to Houston, Texas, where Bennie worked for several construction companies before dedicating 22 years to Powell Electrical Manufacturing Company. In 2018, Bennie expanded his career overseas, accepting a government contract position in Doha, Qatar. He later joined Maytag Aircraft Services, International, providing high-maintenance electrical support to military bases abroad.

Bennie was a devoted father to two daughters:

· Koryelle La'Troy Means (b. January 14, 1988)

· Marion Renee' Means (b. March 14, 1990)

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara D. (Bradley) Means; Children: Koryelle L. Means (Samantha A. Means-Easley), and Marion R. Means; aunt, Mollie Taylor; Brothers: Rodrick Means (Anita Means), Blair Means (Quenisha Means), and Daryl Means Sr.; Sisters-in-Love: Marilynn (Bradley) Washington (Carl Washington), and Sylvia R. (Bradley) Moore (Rodney Moore); Nephews: Gregory Means, Chylar Means, Daryl Means Jr. (Briana Means), Bradley Moore, and Winston Moore; Nieces: Tiffany (Gilner) Baker, Slynthia Means, Taylor Means, Gabrielle Moore, and Frances (Means) Shorter; Great-Nieces & Nephews: Parrias & Prentiss Baker, Ariah Means, and Randall Shorter Jr..; God Children: Tabitha (Holloway) Green, Kyle DeSouza Williams, Felicia (McAdams) Roberts (Glenroy Roberts, Jr.), Eshanda Dennis, Leah George, Nicole Martinez, Tiffany Coleman-Lester, Stefanie (Collins) Odom, Dominique Booker, Chad Adrus and Korey Rachal and a host of God-Grandchildren other relatives and friends.
