Mr. Bennie Lee Patterson, Sr.
May 08, 1955 – February 02, 2025

Mr. Bennie Lee Patterson, Sr, 69, the son of the late Norman, Sr., and Louise Screven Patterson, was born May 8, 1955, in Screven County, GA.
At an early age, Bennie joined St. Andrews Chapel in Sylvania, GA. He attended the public schools of Screven County and was a graduate of the Screven County High School Class of 1975. He worked at Sylvania Yarn System for 20 years and later worked at Georgia Pacific for 25 years. After leaving Georgia Pacific he became an over the road truck driver for 5 years and worked at Wade Plantation until his death.
On March 8, 1977 he married the love of his life, Bessie Wright. To this beloved union two sons were born.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Edward "Big Man" Screven, Robert Patterson and James Patterson, a sister, Corine Patterson Pride.
On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the patriarch of the family entered into peaceful rest in Burke County, GA.
He is survived by his devoted wife: Bessie Wright Patterson; two sons: Bennie Lee Patterson, Jr and Tonelius Tyree Carell Patterson (Tosha); nine grandchildren: Bennie Lee Patterson III, Collin Marquez Patterson, Aubrana J'Nana Roberson Patterson, Preston Tymon Manigault, Payton Tylia Patterson, Jakobie Keshawn Patterson, Jaylon Ahmad Spence, Ke'Sean Tyrell Wallace and Ke'Asia Tiana Wallace; two goddaughters: Tracey Wright and Shalandra Patterson; seven brothers: Norman (Arneda) Patterson, Moszel Patterson, Abraham Patterson (the late Martha Patterson), Ulysses Patterson, Henry Patterson, GeNorman (Jeanette) Patterson and Hull (Jackie) Patterson; three sisters: Clyde (Willie Lee) Allen, Almae Dixon and Thelma Patterson; four brothers-in-law: Charles (Patricia) Wright, Lee Wright and Harry (Jahunta) Wright, and James (Glenda) Roberts; two sisters-in-law: Mary (Coley) Roberts and Cynthia (Terry) Roberson; two uncles: Bennie (Christine) Patterson and Norman Scurry; two aunts: Lorene McCrae and Annie Patterson, and all his co-workers at Millhaven Plantation. He also leaves his special companions: his dog Timber and cat, Raven along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
