Ms. Josie Mae Scott
April 22, 1940 – October 4, 2025

Ms. Josie Mae Scott, 85, was born April 22, 1940, to the late Mr. George Scott, Sr. and Mrs. Rosa Lee Carter Scott in Screven County, GA. She received her early Christian upbringings at New Zion Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing her praises unto the Lord. Her favorite songs were "This Old Building," I Know The Lord Will Take Care of Me," and "Oh, Mary, Don't You Weep." She was employed with Lucille Shealy for many years until later retiring.
On Saturday morning, October 4, 2025, Ms. Josie Mae Scott went home to be with the Lord at her Sylvania home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Sr. and Rosa Lee Carter Scott, her sister, Jessie Lee Scott Taylor, as well as her brothers, George Scott, Jr., Ernest Scott and Willie Frank Scott.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Three brothers, Roy D. Scott, Atlanta, GA, Lawrence (Mary) Scott o Savannah, GA and Grant (Charlotte) Scott of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Grace (William) Newton and Lila (Roosevelt) Bryant, both of Sylvania, GA; her sister-in-law, Shirley Scott of Rochester, NY; her uncle, Willie Scott (aka T.J.) of St. Petersburg, FL; a very special niece, Teressa (Randall) Corley of Sylvania, GA; three special great nieces, Ashley Scott of Sylvania, GA and Kayla Washington of Augusta, GA; and Camille Fulcher of Grovetown, GA; a special great nephew, Octdravious (Antoni) Lawton of Augusta, GA; additionally, she is survived by a special cousin, Bessie Patterson of Sylvania, GA; a devoted caregiver, Ida Mae Ponder of Sylvania, GA; also, a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
