Benny Homer Carson, 70, of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away on May 22, 2024. He was born to parents Johnny and Betty, on November 04, 1953, in Great Bend, Kansas.
He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1972. He married Debbie Penn in 1972 and they had 4 children together. They divorced in 1986. He went on to marry Elizabeth G. “Beth” Lomas on December 11, 1990.
Benny was the typical midwestern man who had a love for a simple and frontier type of life, He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. He was also on a local bowling team for many years. He was content to spend time with family and his small circle of friends. There was probably not a western movie or TV show made that he had not seen. He had an ornery personality and loved to tease people. He had no verbal filter and would gladly tell you about his thoughts on situations. He was perfectly imperfect, and he will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his spouse, Elizabeth Carson, father, Johnny Carson, mother, Betty Carson and sister, Rhonda Herren.
He is survived by his son, John (Don’t touch my tools!) Carson, daughters, April (Why are you wearing sunglasses? Are you high?) McPherson, Amanda (You spend your money on stupid $h!t) Bickle, and Ali Soukup, two brothers; Gordon Carson, Dennis Carson, sister; Lori Carson, and eight grandchildren; Kayla, Brett, Reagan, Elizabeth, Alexis, Alayna, Cade, and Logan.
According to his wishes, cremation has been chosen and there will be no services or visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Keithley Funeral Home of Hays, Kansas.
