They enjoyed several years in their mountain top cottage in the Tickanetly/Bucktown area of Ellijay before relocating to Canton, Georgia, where they have resided for 26 years. Ben was of Baptist faith and was formerly a Sunday School teacher at Hopewell Baptist Church, Milton area, along with his first cousin Donald Wilkie. In Ben's younger years he enjoyed scuba diving, hiking, hunting, as well as travelling and computers.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Gertie Henderson, his sister Jeanette Henderson Rolader, and his brother-in-law D.W. "Pete" Rolader.
He is survived by his widow Cynthia Henderson, his nephew Don Rolader (Susan) and niece Sally Rolader of Big Canoe, his niece Melanie Kleekamp (Tommy) of Marietta, his great nephews Donny Rolader (Kelly), Peter Watkins (Kelly), and Christopher Watkins, his great niece Katie Smith (Matt), his great-great nephews Walker Smith and Forbes Watkins, and great-great nieces Lauren Smith and Jancey Watkins. With a great and appreciative heart, Cynthia would like to thank LaShanda, Marlana, and Trey for their care of Ben. Their kindness and love to Ben will be forever remembered. Kaley was a blessing as well. The Amedisys Long-Term Hospice Staff of the Kennesaw office provided much assistance in allowing Cynthia to care for Ben at home.
