Benny Manuel Tapia

Benny Tapia, age 74 of Los Cabos -Tapia Ranch passed away February 12, 2023 at home in Moriarty, New Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: Alfredo and Isabelita Tapia, Infant child: Mary Magdalene, Brothers: Fermino, Pete, and Nick Tapia, Stepson: Chris Archuleta, Brother-in-laws: Leroy and Frank Ortiz, Sister-in-law: Loren Tapia, Nephews: Gabriel Tapia, Manuel Tapia, Patrick Ortiz, Jayden Martin, and Eric Tapia.
He is survived by his sons: Emmanuel (Carmella), Jonathon (Beverly), Stepdaughter: Angela Martinez (Juan), Grandchildren: Destiny, Emmanuel Jr., Elias, Emma, and Ezra.
Brothers and Sisters: Vicente (Ella) Tapia, Mike (Barbara) Tapia, Fred (Ramona) Tapia, Santos (Helen) Tapia, Jimmy (Georgia) Tapia, Leroy (Rose) Tapia, Genoveva (Jean) Ortiz, Virginia Ortiz, Twin Sister Antonia (Gilly) Encinias, Annabelle (Steve) Gallegos, and Sister-in-law Anita Tapia. Numerous: God children, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Benny was born in Santa Fe, NM April 15, 1948, to the late Alfredo and Isabelita Tapia and attended school in Stanley and Moriarty NM.
Benny was raised to be a hard worker and he lived life to the fullest. He loved his horses and cars and spent plenty of time detailing and shining them up. Benny loved going to the horse races, attending dances, and going to sing karaoke, or maybe just joining the band on stage for any family event to sing some good 'olé Elvis or his favorite 'Wasted Days and Wasted Nights'. He loved roping at the Santa Fe and Galisteo Rodeos (you'd usually find him in the parking lot). Benny loved making memories with his brothers at the Ranch and spending time behind Santos' house with his horses. Benny always had a smile on his face and shared his unforgettable laugh, and his bright Tapia eyes with all he met.
Benny had countless friends and family he enjoyed spending time with, especially with his best friend Louie Silva (Silver), and most recently getting into trouble with his partner in crime, his granddaughter Destiny.
Benny was always generous and willing to help family and friends no matter what. He was so very proud of his kids and grandkids and took every opportunity he could to brag about them.
Services for Benny will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, beginning with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. at Mt Carmel Church in Moriarty, NM with the funeral mass immediately following. A meal will be shared after mass at the Mt. Carmel Parish Hall and then followed by a procession to the burial which will be held at Mesa de Los Cabos, Tapia, NM.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Tapia, Jonathon Tapia, Destiny Tapia, Vicente Tapia, Mike Tapia, Fred Tapia, Santos Tapia, Jimmy Tapia, Leroy Tapia, Gilly Encinias, Steve Gallegos, and Louie Silva.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Emmanuel Jr., Elias, Emma, and Ezra Tapia, and all of his Nephews.
