Dearly beloved wife of 65 years to the late Charles McDermott; devoted mother of Carl (Rita) McDermott, Sheila McDermott and Carmel (Michael) Horan. Proud grandmother of Charlie McDermott, Greta McDermott (Fiance Oisin), John, Mary and Michael Horan; aunt and friend to many.
Dear sister of the late Patricia, (late Luke) Harrington, England; the late Eddie (late Teresa) McGovern, England; the late May (late Sean) Raftery, Ireland; the late John McGovern, Canada; and Michael (Sheila) McGovern, Ireland.
Bernadette was preceded in death by her parents, John and MaryEllen (nee Tiernan) McGovern.
Bernadette was a devout Catholic who regularly attended First Saturday Devotions, praying the rosary with her wonderful group of friends, together they prayed for a multitude.
Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. at St. Linus Church, 10300 S. Lawler, Oak Lawn, IL. Burial Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
