Bernadette Roitz

Bernadette Roitz, 91, of Irwin, passed peacefully in her home on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, in Irwin. She was born on Feb. 20, 1934, in Pittsburgh, to the late Edward and Rose (Cairns) Collins. In addition to her parents, Bernadette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudolf Roitz, in 2019; her son, Joseph Roitz, in 2005; and her two sisters, Kathleen Brennan and Jo Ann Stoehr. She is lovingly survived by her children: daughters, Mary Beth Spore and her husband, Joseph, and Amy Newcomer and her husband, Timothy; sons, Frederick Roitz and his wife, Magda, and Stephen Roitz and his wife, Toni. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of joy and pride in her life. Bernadette was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and cherished time spent with her family. She worked for many years as a school nurse for the Norwin School District. Known for her warm spirit and vibrant personality, she always looked forward to putting on a bit of bright lipstick and greeting loved ones with a smile. Friends and family will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, PA 15642. Prayers of transfer will take place at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church.
