Bernadette Weldon Obituary
Bernadette was a 1947 Valedictorian graduate of Danbury High School where she excelled in track as well as Academics. She continued her education with a Business Degree in Cleveland, Ohio. Bernadette married William Arrie Weldon in Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead Ohio in 1954. She worked as an Exceutive Secretary for numerous companies, including the U.S. Army Intelligence in SHAPE Belgium, concluding her career at Standard Products Co. in Port Clinton, Ohio.
Bernadette was a devout Catholic and an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Port Clinton, Ohio since 1976 where she sang in the choir. She also loved to read, play Bridge, Scrabble and watch Jeopardy and she knew most of the answers! She also enjoyed playing the piano and was very artistic. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Bernadette is survived by her sister Alice Wingate, her brother Charles Ontko, and her children: Lisa (Terrell) Tucker, James Weldon, Anne (Matt) Montowski, Susan (David) Knapp, Gregory Weldon and Thomas (Andrea) Weldon, Twelve grandchildren and one great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bernadette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, eleven brothers and sisters and her sons William and Johnathon.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Marblehead, Ohio with a luncheon to follow at Port Clinton Knights of Columbus Hall, 109 East Perry Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Immaculate Conception Church.

What a wonderful smart and funny lady. The Ontko´s were so respected in Marblehead, and known. For how religous they all were. I loved playing bridge with her as she was in my bridge club for years. We loved going to her home for her good desserts;). She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She will be missed!

For many years each day at the end of my dog walk, I would stop to visit with my across the street neighbor Bernie Weldon. Our youngest sons were often in each other‘s homes. She will be missed by so many peoplefamily and friends a wonderful and Valiant lady. Ironically, once again in recent weeks, Bernie and I have been across the street neighbors at the Otterbein retirement center in Marblehead.
