Bernadine F. "Welch" Drohan

DROHAN, Bernadine F. (Welch), of Arlington, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at her home in Arlington, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Welch and Charlotte (Hynes). She attended Saint Joseph's High School in Somerville, MA. She enjoyed singing and all things musical. As a young woman, she sang on a local radio show. She was a lover of movies and the arts. She also loved to write. She worked at Merchants National Bank, where she met her husband of 63 years, Duane E. Drohan. Together, they established their home in Arlington where they resided and raised their family for over 60 years.

Bernadine is survived by her beloved husband, Duane E. Drohan. She was the loving mother of Deborah Shea and her husband Thomas of Arlington, Lauren Kent and her husband Paul of Arlington, and James Drohan and his late wife Laraine of Stoneham. Cherished Grammie of Meaghan, Joseph, Matthew and his wife Rachael, Lindsey and her husband Tyler, Alexandra, Jessica, Thomas, Jennifer, and John. She was the proud great-grandmother of Dean and Sophie. Dear sister of the late Ann Roderick and her late husband Herbert Roderick. Bernadine is survived by her cousin Mary O'Mara of Lexington, and many loving relatives and dear friends.

Visiting hours will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, Arlington, on Monday, April 6th from 9:30am to 11:00am. Her Funeral Mass will be held from St. Agnes Church, 32 Medford Street, Arlington, on Monday, April 6th at 11:30 am. The service will be live-streamed; the link is provided on https://www.cparl.org/. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernadine's memory may be made to Fidelity House, 25 Medford St, Arlington, MA 02474.
