Bernadine Lorraine Russell

Bernadine Lorraine Russell passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, while surrounded by family. She was 99 years old. As a lifelong resident of Milford, Bernadine touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a deep love for God, her family and friends.
She cherished every moment spent laughing and cooking in their company. Bernie had many wonderful memories from friendships created while working at Kelsey Hayes and volunteering at Christ Lutheran Church. Her vibrant sense of humor was a gift to all who spent time with her, and her selfless nature shone through in her unwavering commitment to serving others.
God was always at the center of her life; daily prayer and Bible reading provided her with strength and peace. She loved singing Christian hymns and reading, especially when learning about strong-willed women. Daily phone calls with friends and family filled her life with joy and prayer.
Even after leaving her home at 97, Bernadine continued to be an active and beloved figure in the community, welcoming many visitors. Whether her friendships began as far back as kindergarten or last year, she cherished them all. Every conversation contained the happiness and purpose her grandchildren brought to her life, referring to them as her greatest blessings.
Daughter of the late William and Theresa Beagle, Bernadine is survived by her son, Dale (Joanne) Russell; grandchildren, Casey (Jerry Thorner) Russell, Kimberly Russell, Katherine (Dr. Jon Wallace) Suender, Constance Vivier, Jennifer (Mike) Syjud, Jacob (Lilly) Russell and Jodi Russell; great-grandchildren, Amanda Snyder, Carly Frierdich, Ryan and Koen Suender, Harrison Vivier, Grace Syjud, Alexandra and Mason Russell, Emilee and Roman Bixby, and Tiger Russell; great great-grandchildren, Kayla, Brittney, Angelia, Junior, and Blake; also many extended family and dear friends.
Bernadine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil Raymond Russell; her son, Rodney Russell; and her grandson, Scott Russell; siblings, Edsel (Barbara) Beagle, Gladys (Ralph) Coleman, Jessie (Edwin) McCurdy, Faye (Arnold) Haner
Bernadine was a faithful giver to the church and many other organizations.
