November 20, 1925 - November 25, 2024
WAUPUN - Bernard Bille, age 99, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at the Christian Home in Waupun.
Bernard was born on November 20, 1925, in the Town of Waupun, Wis., the son of Herbert and Minnie (Rens) Bille. On October 7, 1947, Bernard married Catherine Loomans, with whom he shared a life filled with love.
Together, they farmed in the Town of Alto for many years before moving to Waupun in 1993. Bernard's commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and he took great joy in the close bond he had with them.
Bernard was a member of First Reformed Church in Waupun, serving as an Elder for many years. His leadership extended beyond the church; he was an active participant in local governance, serving as Supervisor and Chairman in the Town of Alto. Additionally, he showed his dedication to the community by serving as a Director for Flyway Mutual Insurance Company of Waupun.
His love for family and community was matched by his enthusiasm for exploring the beauty of God's creation. Bernard delighted in traveling, particularly enjoying winters spent in South Texas. He found immense joy in these excursions, savoring the experiences they provided.
Bernard is survived by four sons, Duane (Colleen) Bille, Rich (Diane) Bille, Cal (Lenora) Bille, and Ken (Val) Bille. He is also survived by his daughter, Cathleen (Dennis) Krueger; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ardis Redeker, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of faith, love, and kindness.
Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine; his parents; a son, Jerald Bille, Sr; a grandson, Zachary Schulz: two brothers: John and Marvin Bille of Waupun; and a sister, Minnie Loomans-Van Buren.
His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his spirit and love will remain alive through the memories he created and the values he instilled in his family.
