It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard B. Coveney, age 84, of Titusville, Florida, on February 17, 2025. He was born on April 24, 1940, in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late Bernard B. and Hasell Coveney. Bernard served his country in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1967. He was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church for sixty-seven years, where he was actively involved in the church choir and served his community by delivering Meals on Wheels. His unwavering commitment to service was also reflected in his childhood years as a Boy Scout. An avid enthusiast of aviation and modeling, Bernard was a proud member of the Moonport Modelers flying club, where he shared his passion for model aircraft with others. He was a graduate of Titusville High School, a member of the first graduating class of Brevard Community College in 1962, and went on to earn a degree from FTU, now known as the University of Central Florida. For thirty-four years, Bernard dedicated his career to teaching at Rockledge High School and Titusville High School, inspiring and educating countless students before retiring. Bernard's memory, especially his ability to always bring a smile to everyone's face with a joke, will be cherished by his many friends, students, and church family. His love for teaching, his devotion to his faith, and his kind-hearted service to the community will leave an indelible mark on all who knew him. Bernard is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 55 years – Margaret, loving daughters Laura Coveney and Beth Driscoll, son-in-law Edward Driscoll, and special granddaughters Ella and Ava Craig, and grandson Sevan Driscoll. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the First United Methodist Church choir. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Titusville on Sunday March 9 at 2pm where Bernard's life of faith and service will be honored.
