Kenneth Warren Buchanan born September 13, 1937 in Chicago Illinois passed away September 17, 2025 peacefully in his sleep. Raised on a farm outside of Chicago by his Aunt Luella, Kenneth moved to Titusville in 1953 and graduated from Titusville High School in 1955 as class valedictorian and playing center on the varsity football team. While attending high school the family home was located on the two-lane unpaved roadway Highway 50, currently known as Cheney Highway. The home later became the Shamrock & Thistle pub.

Known as Bucky to his friends, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1958 to 1964 where he was trained as a USAF firefighter. Stationed at Wethersfield England, Bucky wooed an English rose, his former wife Susan Collins.

Kenneth worked as fire fighter at the Kennedy Space Center for 41 years from July 19, 1965 retiring in September 15, 2006 as a Fire Lieutenant and Crew Chief. He was a competition modeler of aircraft kits and a published photographer.

Survivors include his son, Stuart Buchanan, his beloved grandson Andrew Buchanan and grand daughter in law Raedyn Buchanan nee' Robinius, as well as other family members.

On September 30, 2025, as per Bucky's final request, his ashes were scattered off the coast of Kennedy Space Center where he had dedicated so much of his life. A moving service was held by Paster Charley Watts of the Mims United Methodist Church.

Bucky's final days were in the caring hands of nursing staff of St. Francis. Please consider supporting this local organization to provide for our elderly into the future, and donations in his memory to:
